Barney and Debbie Stambaugh started their farm in 1991 with just 30 cows. Over the years, their herd—and their family—has grown. Today, their four children and their spouses work alongside them, each playing an important role in running the 300-acre farm. Even the next generation is already getting involved, with the Stambaugh grandchildren helping to care for the herd by ensuring they are well-fed, have fresh water, and receive plenty of neck scratches.
Animal care is a top priority at Pheasant Echo’s Farm. The Stambaughs provide their cows with comfortable, bedded pack barns, diets customized by a professional nutritionist, and regular veterinary care to ensure great health.
Their dedication extends beyond their cows. Through conservation practices like no-till farming and crop rotation, they protect the land and local waterways while growing most of their own feed.
“This farm runs because we work together as a family and have the same goals,” they say. “We’re all invested in the future well-being of our animals, land, and family – we take a lot of pride in feeding our family the same milk you buy at the grocery store.”
As proud Maola farmers, the Stambaughs are dedicated to delivering fresh, nutritious milk to families across Maryland and beyond. When you choose Maola, you’re not just supporting high-quality dairy—you’re supporting hardworking Maryland dairy farmers like the Stambaughs.
